All of the activities are provided free of
charge on a first come first serve basis. This year, as well
as doing street dancing, Mcing and football skills, we will
be having a mobile studio where budding MCs and beatboxers
can record their own tracks and take a copy home! Also, we
are introducing a gospel workshop. REMEMBER -
When that when you come as a group, please bring an
adult to help with supervision and to be a familiar face to

From 26 July
to 6 August 2004, SOULINTHECITY mobilised up to 15,000 young
people from around the UK and other nations in community
projects, sports and music initiatives, childrens
clubs, and other schemes across Greater London. These were
developed in conjunction with over 760 local churches, and
other local partnership organisations, including the Metropolitan
Police and Local Government, to ensure that they were tailored
to meet areas of real local need, and effect lasting social
change. SOULINTHECITY is a Christian initiative, which seeks
to emphasise that actions speak louder than words.
Community Projects for Barking
and Dagenham included garden and paint projects for Thames
View schools, rubbish clearance and graffiti removal on
the Rylands Estate, repair and development of the estate
at Wellgate Community Farm, a Kids Roadshow in Becontree
and Compete and Eat events in Barking. Additionally,
there were a series of Cafe Nights, Community Roadshows
and Band Nights in the borough. Click here for SOULINTHECITY
