St Margaret's Centre
Since its opening in 1991 (see our architect's
website for details), St Margaret's
Centre has developed from being merely a Church hall into
a high-quality multi-purpose town centre venue.
The Refectory is open from 10.00am-2.00pm serving
snacks, teas and coffees, with lunch being available from 12 noon.
The Civic and St Paul's meeting rooms can be hired
for conferences, meetings, dinners, seminars etc. The St Paul's
room is a single room measuring 6m by 6.6m while the Civic Room
(which can be hired as one large or two smaller rooms) measures
7.3m by 9.9m.
The Centre is fully accessible. On-site car parking
may be available by arrangement. Catering, from light refreshments
to buffet lunches, can be arranged.
If you would like more details regarding hiring,
please contact:

English & IT courses
Free training courses in English for Speakers
of Other Languages (ESOL) and Information Technology (IT) are
being held at the St Margaret's Centre and Christ Church. These
half day sessions are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and
Fridays. Creches are available.
If you have any questions about these courses,
please call Jerzy on 020 8591 9855 / 07743 580032.
Please tell people about this new opportunity
which we have created in partnership with Barking
College and the Gascoigne Aid & Advice Centre. To
see photos of successful students from these courses click here.
The partnership involves Christ Church and St
Margaret's in providing community rooms for the courses. Thames
Side Community Support and the Gascoigne Aid & Advice Centre
recruit students onto the courses while Barking College provide
tuition through Lifeline
Community Projects.
"This partnership is a great example of
the way in which faith groups can build community and provide
new opportunities in the borough when we are supported by statutory
organisations. Barking College are to be congratulated for seeing
the potential in this partnership and supporting its development."
