INTERNATIONAL
St Margaret's supports two Mission
Partners - Gautam Money in India with the Church
Mission Society (CMS).
Our International committee keeps
in touch with our Mission Partners and organises the Christian
Aid Week appeal, as well as other appeals at Christmas and
Lent. The International committee also oversees
our exchange link with the parish of Kristinehamn
in Sweden (the diocese
of Karlstad is linked to Chelmsford).
Our partnership with Kristinehamn includes prayer for each other,
developing a better understanding of each other and annual visits.
On our last visit to Sweden, the parish of Kristinehamn presented
St Margaret's with an icon of Christ blessing the children. Click
here for photos from our last visit to
Kristinehamn. In May 2006 a group from Kristinehamn visited St
Margaret's and in September 2006 the Kristinehamn Youth Choir,
Voxette, visited and performed for us.
St Margaret's also hosted the Diocesan
service in January 2004 when the Agreement between Chelmsford
and four diocese in Kenya was signed. The Chelmsford/Kenya Partnership
is celebrated annually with a service; the last was on Sunday
25th June 2006 at 6.30pm in St Margaret's Church when we came
together to pray and worship with others from both Chelmsford
and Kenya and to meet over tea and coffee after the service.
Several International evenings have
been held at St Margaret's when members of our congregation have
come together to share food, fellowship and demonstrate a level
of diversity which reflects that found in the Anglican Communion.
We also support the annual Christian
Aid week and need people to deliver and collect envelopes in the
local area. If you can help please give your name and phone number
to Pat Nappin or to the church office.
