St Margaret’s is situated between Abbey Road, London Road, St Paul’s Road and Broadway/North Street in Barking. This is just under 10 miles by road from Central London, on the east side. Both the A406 (North Circular Road) and the A13 (Alfreds Way) are within ½ mile.
By tube: District or Hammersmith & City Line to Barking, turn right when you come out of the station and keep going until you see the church (about 10 minute walk).
By train: C2C or Silverlink to Barking, turn right when you come out of the station and keep going until you see the church (about 10 minute walk).
By bus: buses 62, 368, & 387stop close to St. Margaret’s.
I will be travelling by road to attend a funeral on Tuesday 14th January. Could you please let me know about parking in the vicinity of the Church. Is there on-street parking or is it necessary to use local authority/private facilities? If the latter, the address/post code of the car park and some indication of costs would be helpful.

There is only paid parking in the area, via parking meters, The Vicarage has a car park which is about 10 minutes walk away, however parking on either side of the church is available via meters and around both school areas. We do have a parking area but most times it is gated off due to the school. Hope this helps

I worshipped at St Margarets when I was a young girl in the 1950′s am interested in establishing any contacts for people of that era. One chorister, Michael Riley whose Father was a Warden of the Church was a friend at that time and am interested to contact any former parishioners of that time. My name at that ime was Pauline Wyatt.

I am writing regarding the death of Edna Conibear (formerly Dodd) who was the wife of Rev Bill Dodd. Both were active church members when they lived in Barking
She died peacefully following a short illness on 9th February 2014 at The Manor Care Home in Old Windsor.
It would be much appreciated if you could pass on details of her passing to members of your congregation in Barking She spent many happy years there with my Father and really enjoyed her time living and working in the parish when they were Nurses at Goodmayes hospital.
For your information I have pleasure confirming that I have now made arrangements for Edna’s funeral which will take place at
11:00 am on Tuesday 4th March at:

This will be followed by a committal at 12:30 at Slough Crematorium.
My Mum asked for no flowers but instead we have arranged donations to The Friends of St Georges Chapel and also Macmillan Nurses – without whom her last weeks would not have been so comfortable and pain free.
